What version am I running?

To see what version you're currently on, just open the Streamtime interface via FileMaker, or if Streamtime is already open, just click on the logo at the top left of the window. The start page will tell you exactly what version you are on. It will also inform you what version of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server you're using.

What is the latest version?

To find out what the latest version is and what changes were made since previous versions, you need to check out this article here.

So how do I go about it?

Multi-user license

A multi-user site has the Streamtime database hosted on a FileMaker Server, either on a computer in your office or in a datacenter. Running an upgrade isn't rocket science, but it's complicated enough that we don't want to bother our end users with doing it themselves. These upgrades are usually performed by our support team, as part of the maintenance contract.

Single-user license

Awesome! So what do you need to upgrade my Streamtime?

Streamtime are hosting our database

If we host your database for you, just drop us an email at classic@streamtime.net and we'll take care of everything for you. All we need to do is arrange a date and a time for the upgrade and check the client machines for compatibility.

Our database is self hosted

We will first require remote access to the server, e.g via Teamviewer so we can assess the state of the server (hardware, operating system, Java, FileMaker Server version,...). Based on this assessment, we will decide which components need to be upgraded, we can advise how long it may take and we can lock in a date and time for the actual upgrade.

Start by contacting the support team for the upgrade at classic@streamtime.net and send over the Teamviewer details (id and password) of the server.

How to upgrade a database with a single license:

If you have a single license of Streamtime, it's quite easy to upgrade your own database. Please follow these steps:

  • Close down FileMaker Pro

  • Make sure you have a backup copy

  • Rename your Streamtime database "Streamtime OLD.fmp12"

  • Download the latest version of Streamtime and place it in the folder next to the old copy.

  • Double click Streamtime and follow the on-screen steps.
